Realistically if I'm Toronto I'd rather deal Marner for Hall. The sense I get is Marner is viewed as equal or better than Nylander league-wide, and I'd rather have Nylander for the better 5v5 play (chart here:

Ben Hutton is Cody Ceci without the passable offense that makes having Ceci slightly less

His stats are inflated playing in the high scoring leafs offense and playing with elite centers. And even then still only managed 44. Meanwhile McCabe plays over 20 mins a night against other teams top line and plays pk. And dman are worth more then wingers. Also better contract.
Kapanen's impacts were way better than McCabe's last year. Minutes are a useless tool for player evaluation since players don't directly impact their minutes. Plenty of good players have played limited minutes because of either dumb coaches or stacked teams. Plenty of bad players have played tons of minutes because of crap teams (like Ceci). McCabe's realistically a fine #4 guy, but he doesn't add enough for Toronto to justify losing Kapanen for him. If nothing else they could probably just get a better player for Kapanen. Market value's probably not incomparable, but Kappy's got definite top-6 upside, probably top-line, and that'll get a #3 guy if you look in the right places.
Points for the Hall add, creative and interesting.
