The Leafs would use Kaskisuo before trading a 3rd for a guy who is worse than what they currently have.

Kaskisuo looks like he could be a solid goalie. Probably wouldn’t want to waste him as a backup. Smart move would be to let him play in the ahl and keep developing his skills and playing more games.

I think I’m just being impatient with Pánik but Johansen has been surpassed a few times on the depth chart. I’m losing faith

In what universe does Lucas Johansen have anywhere near Puljujarvi's value? Just because he was once a 1st round pick? He's done nothing since. Besides, the Oilers have way too many LHD prospects already - so many so that they will have to trade several of them within the next 10 months. He would be completely buried on Edmonton's depth chart.

Panik is a 28-year-old 3rd liner who is signed for $2.75M for the next 4 years. He has zero value to the Oilers. Besides, he's currently on LTIR due to an upper body injury.
