The difference between Nylander and Domi isn't huge but I think Nylander has a higher ceiling and more skill, so if its a wash, then you are right Ceci for Petry isn't fair, however you are also getting 4 full seasons of Nylander on a great contract which adds a lot of value considering Domi could demand more money than that. I don't think I'd do this if I was TO.

Nylander's contract isn't much of a bargain, and I doubt Domi would make anywhere close to that. I don't know why you would mention that as being a benefit to the Habs.
I see this trade as the Habs giving a division rival a top 4 D that they desperately need, and some much needed toughness and versatility with a C/W, while taking back a cap dump. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense from their end.
