Description
Just looking around at the bottom 7-8 teams, San Jose is the one that I think could use young talent and picks more than anyone with their cap hits.

Labanc is due for a raise this offseason, but it might not be monumental. He might finish with 18 goals and 55 points, but he is also a minus 22 right now. Maybe a deal to Pitt and playing with Sidney would elevate his game and effort? He always stands out to me in the playoffs.
Trades
PIT
  1. Labanc, Kevin
Additional Details:
This is better than giving up a first and Hallander for Zucker imo. Labanc is younger, has better playoff experience, and can probably be had for less cap.
SJS
  1. Björkqvist, Kasper
  2. Joseph, Pierre-Olivier
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Labanc certainly has value. I just don't know what it is. It is also a value for the Sharks to get younger guys that can be controlled for league minimum until they get out of the Vlasic deal.

You aren't getting him without a 1st being involved. San Jose doesn't have one and his production over the past three seasons is top six. So you are looking at a 1st, blue chip prospect, and maybe another 3rd or prospect.

2020 1st & Legare/Poulin or Kahun+ probably. LaBanc is for real. My family is WBS season ticket holders and said POJ is a great skater but doesnt have the skill right now. He is still young and Dmen seem to take a bit longer sometimes so hopeful it pans out but not appealing to other teams yet.

More than that. Either a first and a ok young forward or a first and a better prospect forward.

How about a first +Nathan Legare? I dont know the prospect well but he seems decent

I think the value seems fair but I would rather keep the first and Legare than trade for Labanc.

Similar to the comment above. Legare seems to have the highest ceiling for scoring wings in our system. If it were a first, Bjorkqvist or POJ, whichever SJS values more, and the third, it would be more palatable as a fan.

He is definitely a good player, but his trending negative +/- is a concern and a lot of the Sharks seem like they don't want to play a lot of nights... That is an issue. If the Sharks know they aren't willing to pay Labanc 4-5 mill per this offseason, I feel like the value is lower than a first plus Hallander, Legare, Poulin. Addison would certainly be off the table for this particular deal if I'm the Pens. Thanks for giving a San Jose perspective. I'd be interested in kicking this tire, at least.
