My instinct is to say it’s too much from boston, but i think you’re really in the right ballpark here. I would say I think Boston would prefer a different prospect, but I think if push comes to shove, and Anaheim held firm on axel, the bruins probably take this.

Thanks. I was thinking about LW Jack Kopacka, but you guys have enough lefties, and we don't have a sufficiently interesting RW prospect to offer you (other than Sprong or Sherwood, which I think is too much), so I chose a center.

As an Anaheim guy, I'm pretty happy with this deal. The fourth is adequate and proper compensation from taking on Backes' contract (I'm not a subscriber to the hysterical "it's going to cost a first" ululation), and Kase isn't quite worth a first himself, so Kase plus a decent prospect equals a 2020 first and the quality RhD prospect the Ducks so desperately need.
