Description
The recent trades bring power to MB.
The Habs won't make the playoffs this year, and to be honest, probably not next year as well.

It is currently a seller market and he should use it as his advantages.
Tatar trade: It is well known that the Avs want to add a top6 forward and were on Blake Coleman. The have young d-man in the lineup already and could sacrifice Bowen Byram in order to acquire Tomas Tatar who would fit perfectly on the second line alongside Nazem Kadri. MB could even sacrifice Victor Mete and obtain a 1st round pick in this year's draft (which is almost a 2nd rounder).

Petry trade: If the Devils can have a 2nd round pick for Andy Greene, we can obtain a whole lot more for Jeff Petry. MB could obtain something similar to what the Kings had for Jake Muzzin last year, maybe even more. Owen Tippett is a good A prospect, Michael Matheson is a Montrealer who has a too big salary for the current Panthers squad and a 1st round this year since the draft is in Montreal.

Domi trade: Domi wants to play center. Habs wants him to play winger (Suzuki – KK – Danault should be C). Minnesota wants a 1C or 2C for either Dumba or Brodin. We "lost" Petry in the previous trade, so I'd go with Dumba to play alongside Weber next year (upgrade from Mete), Byram would play with Chiarot.

I'd sign UFA Mikko Koivu to a 2 years $3,5MM AAV, so he could finish his career where his brother played a huge role. He could mentor the many young forwards we will have in the lineup such as Kotkaniemi (finnish friend), Caufield, Poehling, Suzuki and Tippett.
I'd also resign UFA Ilya Kovalchuk to a 2 years $3MM AAV. He seems to enjoy his time in Montréal. He produces and he could also mentor young players, especially Caufield and Tippett (2 youngs snipers like him).

I would be quite shocked if Colorado made that Bo Byram deal. Maybe Timmins/1st for same package.

Overvaluing here! Byram is basically the next Makar, heiskenan, Hughes. He is untouchable unless a superstar is available. One year of Tatar AT 4.8 is very good but not byram good especially + a 1st. Same thing for Petry (Who shouldnt be traded because no one is even close to replace him on the organization). Tippet is FLO top prospect and you are asking a probably top 20 Pick and a pretty decent DMAN younger ans cheaper than Petry also, this is insane even with a crazy market vibe going on!

Byram did nothing this year and he's late. He's really good but he's overall an overrated player honestly
