Leafs lose a guy who’s playing unreal and better then his contracts worth, for little to nothing. AND retain.

Second move makes no sense for the canucks and even less sense for us.

Pearson is a 20-goal scorer on a cheap deal, that's the kind of player who could really bolster our middle-6, especially paired with a skilled center.

I'm not sure the Sharks could swing that big of a trade for a guy like Nylander, but rumor is Wilson wants to trade it to someone and Toronto needs to shed cap to afford a better blueliner. With a deal such as this, they can pick up a couple of young players who could potentially contribute next year on very, very cheap contracts, and they get a 1st (which they could flip for a defenseman).

The Leafs will need to get rid of someone, maybe Kapanen makes more sense but he's cheaper.

The Canucks are also in cap trouble, depends on who they want to keep, maybe J.T. Miller instead? They need to pay Virtanen and Markstrom, and Tanev is a FA. They also have have to lock up Hughes and Pettersson the following season so they can't screw themselves with more long contracts.

Wow that second trade is terrible for the sharks. I would of liked to see the a trade between the sharks and leafs including Dillon and Kapanen, not sure what that would of looked like though.
