Description

If the NHL season is cancelled (like the NCAA, ECHL, AHL, etc.) what would happen to the conditional 1st that was traded to Minny? Would the pens be allowed to keep it because there was no playoffs? Or not because they currently are in a playoff position? I know this is more suited for a forum but whatever

Good question, they really need to finish the season somehow, I'm starting to think it's more important that they finish the regular season then anything else just because of the bearing it has on the draft and some of the trade conditions.

if there is no playoffs than you can't make the playoffs.
Hence.
Pittsburgh has the option to send their 2021 1st round pick instead.

My guess is they would still owe a 1st since Zucker has a year on his deal still. But it is an interesting to question for all the teams that spent on rentals.
