Without question, Alex Ovechkin is one of the most lazy and one dimensional players in history. He’s a one trick pony, the only thing he is capable of doing is scoring one timers by waiting at the half wall. He relies heavily on TJ Oshie & John Carlson to do all the work for him, and when he ain’t scoring, he’s not offering anything to his team. He’s an extremely poor skater & has no hands, he can’t undress opposing players & score solo goals. He doesn’t forecheck or battle for pucks and he doesn’t help out defensively either. Just not a very skilled & complete player at all. Patrick Kane is miles better than him.

i think a lot of these arguments are similar with kane. One dimentional just in a different category. Both of these guys are defensive liabilties.

Still, Ovi is a franchise player. Finding the place to take a shot is just as important as the actual shot itself. Much of Ovi's younger days featured far more skilled goals than one timers too.
