I think the jets consider it but at the end of the day, copp is too big of a part of the team. He is our best pker, is versatile, and is a big part of the leadership on the team. Unless he forces his way out there or the jets can’t afford him, I don’t see him going anywhere.

Good value though and solid trade imo. I just don’t think the jets do it.

ive done lots of Copp trades and u seem to say this lots, but i don't see this all that much from other WPG fans. I totally see what you mean here, I would guess this gets positioned around a Haula UFA signing.

I feel jets fans don’t keep him because he is a valuable asset to other teams who can be used to get a bigger player. That said, unless he’s bringing in a 2c who is good in his own end like cirelli, I don’t see him being moved.

I assume you mean the jets signing haula? Even so I wouldn’t move him. In the short term the jets are set at almost every position (rd being one of them). The only holes I see are 2C and 2ld.

A lot of people judge players based on their scoring but players who watch a lot of jets games know that copp is one of the most valuable forwards in the jets. The fact that he can play lw and c and switch between the two seamlessly is a big plus. And he is really good in his own end. If you look at our pk with copp vs when he was injured, the difference is very large. Without him and Lowry, we are near the bottom of the league in pk %. With both of them, we are around 10th. Now it’s hard to measure who has the bigger impact but visibly it’s copp. I think retaining at least one next year will be crucial

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him get traded before the expansion draft since he did go to arbitration last year and has the same agent as trouba.

Sorry for being repetitive

Tear down is great idea and the first order of business is to fire Marc Bergevin the most incompetent GM in professional hockey.
