Description
ARI trade:
This is a money deal. ARI add a young dman they can sign for cheap. and even if they take Alzner with 2 years left on his deal, they save $4mil cash.

So ARI get the younger player, and saves money.
Habs get a 35 year old vet Dman that can legitimately play top 4 (and on the PP!!!), and a speedy, although overpaid 4th liner that I think would fit well on the roster.

Both Goligoski and Grabner's contract expire after next season, So MTL get the added benefit of shaving off Alzner's last year of his contract. and ARI already have Goligoski's replacement for the top 4 with Chychrun (who's a stud but currently playing 3rd pairing behind OEL and Goligoski)

Both teams win in this deal

WIN trade:
For Domi to WIN. I'm going for a Pacioretty type deal. Heinola is the key piece coming back (similar to Suzuki), Lowry serves an underrated pick up (physical two-way C who can win F/O), and a pick. I also like the idea of reuniting Armia and Lowry, WIN were known for their depth back then.

In this situation too Goligoski serves as a 1 year stop gap to not rush either or of Romanov or Heinola.

Kulak > Goligoski

Agreed. Also, I would keep Mete (he’s underrated by fans) and I wouldn’t trade Domi for that. I love what Domi brings to the roster. Sure I love Heinola (I wanted us to draft him at 15 last year until I realized that Caufield dropped into our lap) but I’d want more coming back. We don’t really need to trade him, so, if Domi gets dealt, it will be a 1 for 1 Marc Bergevin Special or it will be an overpayment by the other team.

Kulak > Goligoski

There must be a different Kulak I'm not aware of on the Habs then....

Brett Kulak - 7pts in 56 games (0g 7a)
Alex Goligoski - 32pts in 70 games (4g 28a)

Goligoski can also run the point of a PP (something MTL has not had since Markov's departure)

Sorry fellas, the difference is night and day here. Kulak had an amazing series against PIT don't get me wrong, but at the end of the day Kulak isn't a top 4 dman. Goligoski is, and plays a style that the Habs are desperate for.

Maybe we can try him and if he’s not good, Kulak take is place. Kulak was amazing last year, had a rough year this season but bounce back in the playoffs

If Domi would be willing to play wing, I'd keep him 100% and have zero interest in moving him. But if he stays at C we have to move him this offseason, he's being wasted on the 4th line, and he's not bumping the 3 C's above him. A 1v1 trade would be nice. But in this scenario a package deal makes more sense, If Habs don't trade for Goligoski, go for a Hanifin/Lindholm type player for Domi. In this situation though you have more upside short and long term though. Goligoski now (proven PP Top 4 D) Heinola later (high upside).
If you trade for Heinola (top prospect), you aren't getting another 1st. ain't gonna happen. It didn't happen with Pacioretty, it's not going to happen for Domi. Looking back at the Patches trade, back then Suzuki's value would be fairly close to what Heinola's now. We just got lucky that Suzuki blew past expectations.
