Description
Toronto gets their younger starting goalie of the future in Matt Murray. They get two defensemen and one under a great contract in Pettersson. They get a cheaper C/Wing in McCann and they rid themselves of some bigger salaries so they take on Jack Johnson for a few more years. The Montreal Trade helps both teams across the board. The Buffalo trade helps the Sabres get the grit and toughness upfront that they need. while getting rid of a D man that wants out. The Minnesota Trade helps the Wild shed themselves of Ryan Suter's salary and they pick up some nice young players for their rebuild in Riikola on LD, Johnson the very fast speedy young center and Rodrigues the versatile young Center/Wing who is very cheap in price. On the Penguins side they get the Scoring and Speed they need on the Right Wing Side with Nylander and Kapanen. Domi gives them the grit they want and desperately need and Tie Domi is excited because his boy gets to play for Mario Lemieux's organization since they are very close buds. The Penguins get Rasmus to help out on defense and he doesn't cost a ton but he is still an upper end D man. And yes the Penguins take on a bad salary in Ryan Suter but the Penguins NEED a veteran Left Shot D man badly and Suter can play a TON of minutes effectively still. Minnesota gets younger for their rebuild and the Penguins go again for the Cup with a defense that can actually win in the next 3-5 years. This does get the Pens under the Cap BUT with Signing Tristan Jarry they would have to trade away a player like Kapanen for "Kap Space" or Letang to a team that has a cheaper right-handed shooting D man and thus moving Risto into the second pairing and the newly acquired player in the Letang trade to the third pair. Either way, Jarry MUST be signed but NOT too a crazy high contract but rather a longer term deal that fits our future. Casey DeSmith is a perfect backup and he can win at the NHL level.

Nice troll lmao. These trades wouldn’t go through in NHL 15 with easy difficulty. You gotta give something good to get a good piece in return, unless you’re trading with Chiarelli.

For real though, I feel like you’ve put effort into this this, but the value is really off. For example, that package isn’t really enough to get rid of Johnson’s contract in a trade, how is it enough to acquire Ryan m Suter, an elite defender with amazing defense.

Why not?

Toronto needs this positions filled. Minnesota needs to get younger and rid themselves of those two brutal contracts of Suter and Parise. Risto wants out of Buffalo and the Sabres need players like Horny and ZAR that can score in the net front and actually play defense like ZAR who has some of the best numbers in the league Selke wise. And the Montreal deal gets them a BIG tall center that they don't have and a proven player in Simon who played with Crosby and since he's young he will grow with the young Montreal core going forward.

It's not so much about getting RID of Johnson's contract as it is in helping Toronto get a young Defensemen under a TERRIFIC contact in Marcus Pettersson and getting a goalie of the future in the young proven Matt Murray who Dubas really likes. And getting a versatile Jared McCann who is very cheap helps replace the forwards they give up. And in the meantime Johnson would play 3rd line minutes and give them some big body strength they need to hammer in front of their own goal and then his contract runs out in two years and they say bye bye.
