Description
Is Alexander Kerfoot a player the Avalanche would consider reacquiring? He was solid for the Avs with 43 and 42 points respectively. He also produced on the power play - 17 and 16 PP points respectively. His numbers dipped a bit in Toronto, which had to do with opportunity. He was at .54 points per game with the Avs and .43 with the Leafs, but his offensive zone starts with Colorado we’re around 55%, and they dipped to 49% in Toronto. His average ice time was about the same for both teams, but his power play ice time went from 2:28 & 2:03 per game in Colorado, to 1:15 with the Leafs, and he produced only 3 PP points last season.

While he wouldn’t get the same opportunity in Colorado now that he did two seasons ago, I think he can still be an effective top nine offensive forward who can help on the #2 power play. He’s a pass-first player, and would fit well with shoot-first players like MacKinnon, Kadri, and Burakovsky. He’s proven before that he can play with MacKinnon. He also fit really well in Colorado’s tightly knit locker room.

Kerfoot wouldn’t be the ideal addition, but he would be low cost, both in AAV and trade value.

No!!! Kerfoot is good. If someone wants him they can pay market value.

Leafs don't have much NHL/AHL depth at centre. Really Kerfoot has to stay a Leaf.

Consecutive 40 point seasons isn’t working? He couldn’t drive a line by himself, but he wouldn’t need to now.

Kerfoot played center and both wings at times in Colorado. I would assume he would play wing now, but could move to center in case of injuries.
