Figuring out Strome

Flames decline, Strome is bot a good fit for Calgary and we dont want to move Hanifin

Look at teams like Florida and Winnipeg for where he might fit well. Strome resembles Monahan far too much in terms of flaws but isnt as good offensively acquiring him would probably hurt fhe team more than not.

I've seen a few CGY fans saying they're willing to move Hanifin, but I don't think they'd want to either. Where would Strome fit in CGY's lineup? I only see it happening if they trade Monahan.

Monahan will not be traded to then go and acquire inferior versions of Monahan. If he is moved it is to tank for a lottery pick in the next 2-3 years and rebuild around Tkachuk. You can probably imagine Gaudreau and Gio are probably also sold off. Bennett, Ryan, and Backlund maybe as well.

I don't think we should trade our best LD prospect, unless we draft Sanderson

We're willing to move Hanifin if it brings back a good top line C or RW, because we're deep at LD and can probably stomach the hit, but preferably we don't deal a 23yo top 4 D locked up for term under 5mil. I don't think Strome is good enough to be a 1A/1B centre yet (like RyJo/Duchene) with Monahan, so he'd be the 2C at best, maybe the 3C if he can't outperform Backlund, which is unfortunate. Strome is kinda like Monahan Jr. so idk if the Flames would really be all that interested unless he came cheap.

Ottawa rejects, we don't need goalies, especially not bad backups.
