Dermott is worth much less than Georgiev.

So, I think the Rangers consider trading back in order to build an instant contender. Kuznetsov led the playoffs in points in 2018. Eller had the Cup-winning goal. Each had an overtime goal. They're really good centers. Along with Zibanejad, Strome, and eventually Andersson, this team suddenly has more center depth than necessary to win the Cup. The defense and goaltending stay solid. The first three lines are going to score a ton of goals.

The Caps make this trade knowing it wrecks their chances of winning the Cup again this year, but decreases their chances of going through a long rebuild. https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/363063?post_id=1739004

I'd assume both Washington & LA accept pretty fast

Thanks for your polite feedback. I agree that everyone loves draft picks and potential. What would you change to make it work better for the Rangers? Because I think this gets them at least one Cup in the next five seasons. Maybe more than one.

I think they can easily win a cup with the next 5 years as is.

I also think that you somewhat neglected the need at LHD. Id rather keep that spot open for Hajek who while he IS on loan, can be a good player at that position in the future. Dermott kind of cramps that spot.

I think that a 1LD should be the priority, NOT a true top 6 C/2C to replace Strome. I think that that position can eventually be filled by Chytil. LHD on the other hand.... Lets just say that it's not only not ideal, especially at the top. A Jonas Brodin is the ideal "realistic" option, although I'm not sure if New York are cool with giving up the pieces necessary to pull him away from Minnesota
