Description
I know that not a lot of people like him or rate him, but I believe the Penguins should take a shot at Taylor Hall if they clear enough cap space this offseason. For me, he is a top 5 LW alongside Ovechkin, Panarin, Marchand and Gaudreau based on performances over the past 3 seasons. Obviously this season was a down year by his standards, he still drove offence at an elite level but his defensive play was horrendous. Generally he’s known to be a possession monster who generates a very high amount of shot attempts and chances while his expected goals against ranks in the top 30 percent amongst forwards. He is extremely fast, physical and was scoring at a 90 point rate in 2 of the last 3 seasons despite playing on weak teams. In order to sign him, they’ll need to move Bjugstad, Johnson and Hornqvist which may be difficult to accomplish, but I made a hypothetical lineup below of this scenario:

What'd you guys think of this team? Would you entertain signing Hall?

I think Pit should make every attempt at going for it for the next few years so I don't necessarily think this is a bad idea. Sid Malkin and Letang probably still have a couple good years left so why not. However, if Hall is willing to sign a 1 year deal when he could probably get term somewhere, I think he would be better off going with the Avs for a year where they have a better shot. Even if it is few a few less $.

Gonna be a no from me dawg. Assets will need to be moved to shed Bjugstad or JJ, don't think either is getting claimed. Also, Pittsburgh gave up a bunch to acquire Kapanen and Zucker, doesn't make sense to me that either of them and especially not Guentzel and Rust stay out of the top 6.

All that money being allocated to a LW when our top 6 is pretty damn set doesn't make much sense. This team needs a 3rd line that is actually going to have an impact. I'd rather spend the money there tbh
