Giguere not only was a solid goalie for the team for 10 years and was a major component of the cup win in 07, but he also won the Conn-Smythe in 02-03, making him the last player to win it and not be on the cup winning team. His performance was legendary, he went 15-6 for W/L, made 697 saves, had a 1.62 GAA, put in a save percentage of .945, had 5 shutouts, three of which came against the Wild in the WCF, in fact the Ducks swept the Wild primarily because Giguere only let 1 goal in throughout the whole series. Up until the SCF the Ducks were 12-2. In 06-07 his performance wasn't quite as insane however he still had a GAA of 1.97 and a save percentage of .922. Giguere set all those crazy stats in 03-04 and still had a very solid performance in 06-07 to take the team to a cup win, and had 10 great seasons with the team, so would you say that is enough to merit a number retirement?
