Description
This just sounded like a fun idea at the moment a little over internal cap but salary wise im pretty surei i made it. Im not sure the trades work, i tried to over pay for them so i would be a bit realistic and too be link the name almost all the contracts (save jordan staal) drop off next year to rebuild after a staaled 2020-2021 season. Let me know what you think. For a restricted budget and staal theme i don't think i did to bad.

NSH declines. They don't have the cap space to allocate $5.4M to a guy who'd be on the 3rd pair. Risto to the Preds only works with one of the NSH's centers going to BUF.

I'd take it but I'm not sure Yzerman would. He got a 2nd rd pick for taking on Staal Detroit needed another veteran defenseman as a stop gap on the left side. We've been talking about it for a few weeks now. How much would give for this guy? Can we get this guy for under a 3rd? Now Yzerman that defenseman and gets a 2nd round pick as well without even having to give up a pick.. The right size of Detroit's defense is going to be pretty young and bringing a player like Stall could help them. Or he could still be planning to buy him out and if that is the plan then yeah he could trade him.

Sure i agree staal fits the hole and how many times did we say staal in all those ranger trades with Smith. My only thought is id rather have kahun for alot of years than staal for one.

I like that deal. Every move Yzerman makes is calculated and deliberate. Since you can't tell ahead of time that you will be able trade him it probably didn't even factor in to his decision to trade for Staal.
