Description
https://twitter.com/GuerinMaxim/status/1312899275303641089 (3 sources would have told this guy that MTL-CHI had talks for Saad before draft involving a RS)

Yes we don't really know who the f this guy is, but let's have some fun. There was some AGM that involved a Saad trade.

It makes sense for the Habs because it's a 1 year deal and they want to get in the playoffs again.

It could make sense for the Hawks because they are tight on cap. If we count the CARRYOVER BONUS OVERAGES of 1m, they might not be able to resign Crawford + their RFA even with the Maata trade & a Smith buyout. A trade would have to be made.

But they tasted playoffs too and trading Saad would not help them unless they use their cap space for a signing. So maybe they would rather wait for TDL for better value or just to keep him for playoffs, but they might need to do a move this offseason

  1. Juulsen, Noah [RFA Rights]
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (CHI)
  3. 2020 4th round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
Juulsen seems to recover from his injuries. MTL would be afraid to lose him on waivers (he's eligible) because he'll most likely play in Laval due to all the NHL D MTL has. My POV is that CHI could use a RD. Give him 1 y at 800k

An injury prone late 2015 first pick doesn't carry that much value. The 2m retained salary has also value. If I have to remove something and still hope to be accepted it's the 4th

But sure if CHI accepts less lets go!

I'd be down, if the Hawks put the money saved towards getting a legit goalie or being able to afford a long term deal for Kubalik. Saad is great but I'm not sure if he really fits with us anymore in terms of when we want to compete again and I do think us retaining some salary could make him an incredibly attractive piece to a team in need of some more offense, which Saad can provide a lot of

Chicago rejects, we don’t have to trade saad to fit everyone, and if we did... we would get a better return.

This is interesting to me. I would personally wait until the TDL where a player can maximize his trade value. I do think @ the TDL Saad will get a 1st and possbily a little more. WITH 50% retained. Since it's before the draft...picks become more valuable. I'm hopeful it's a different player than Noah because the Hawks already have way too many Dmen. It's not the move I'd make, but if Stan did....we know the negotiations between Kubs, Strome, and Crow aren't going that well.
