Description

If Chara retires, Boston could use help on the left side for denfense, and I think Cole at 2M is pretty good value for them.
Avs get Kuraly, physical center who seems like he could step into a bigger role since he was only playing 13 mins a night with Boston.
Compher is traded for cap reasons and to create room for Kaut.

As a Bruins fan, I like Kuraly and I've seen him play 3C sometimes. I will tell you something: he isn't a 3C. He is good forechecker and reliable defensively/on the PK but play him on the 4th, he isn't a 3rd liner. At least, not regularly. Keep Compher, he's great, no?

He's not physical but Derek Ryan's an excellent right handed shot 3C that pk's if you want him from Calgary. Basically like adding Bonino to the roster

If they really want a new 3C, Soderberg or Haula could make sense. I think they stand pat and hope one of Compher or Jost earns the spot. If it's an area they feel they can improve upon, there's your deadline target.

Bruins like kuraly. He has this weird thing of just turning into a super hero in the playoffs. The number of big goals he’s scored is kind of bizarre.

I don’t think at this point the bruins are going dumpster diving for LD. They had a chance at Krug, and passed. They clearly could have had schmidt, and passed. Looks like they want to try their youth.

On Chara: he says he wants to come back. Doubt he retires.
