Description

Doubt they go this big in free agency but having the ability to add 14 million (including lowry resigning) next off season through free agency or trades with teams up against the cap is huge. Laine and Roslovic will come in around 11 million next year combined. Scheiffelle and Dubois will make 11.25 million next season.

I'm sorry to Laine go but we just kicked the door open at a couple runs.

So montreal is just letting Danault walk to UFA? I gotta think Berg is either going to extend him or trade him at the deadline to a team who agrees with a sign & trade...

Danualt is likely not going to be traded at the deadline, I assume MTL would just go for it this year with the guys they have.

Habs reportedly offered Danault an extension before Gallagher this summer, 6 yrs × $5M. 7 yrs × $5.5M is not that far apart and I agree why would he leave MTL to be 3C with the Jets? MTL will have to decide between Tatar and Danault, having Poehling in the organization could lead them to chose Tatar, but they'd obviously love to keep Danault.

Yeah at this point I think Tatar is more valuable to the habs and is going to sign a longer term deal similar to Mike Hoffman's... Danault is probably the odd man out since Evans has looked promising and Poehling really needs playing time. SO that's why i feel a trade is most likely imminent.

Don't worth Montour is worthy of such a $$$ and term. Maybe not Denault either . Sure Jets have cap but don't spend unless the value is there long term.
