They dont get Crosby and that is a train wreck/dumpster fire trade for the avs.

max contract limits exist in this league...and Penguins cant take on 5 additional contracts against the limit
Avs are not trading 4 roster players going into the playoffs that destroy their depth and potetnially a 5th in Newhook
This move kills the Avs cap space for next year to keep their team together and re-sign Grubauer Landeskog Makar]

so yes its a dumpster fire train wreck of a trade

Flat cap, wont happen. And there is no way that Avs offer up Girard or Byram. Penguins have 0 leverage in any Crosby trade and lets be real here, hes 33, no one is trading half of their young Top 4 Dcore for the next decade for him

Sakic hasn't traded a 1st in his tenure as GM, hes not going to trade 1st top prospects and good roster players in season for Crosby....Plus Crosby has a NMC, he will hand pick whatever team he wants to go to win, he isnt going to force himself onto. team and kill their depth and cap space making it impossible to win.
