I don’t hate this Forsberg offer even though I’d hate to lose him. I love the 2 first round picks but I do think a better prospect is needed

Not really I fan of the giving up Graves. I know is sounds crazy but if we are going to make a deep playoff run someone like Graves would be important.

What I mean is: His penalty killing is much improved and with Johnson out he is our best penalty killing defenseman. And everyone needs to kill penalties in the playoffs

I don't think Nashville will get many better offers than this. I did try to make it as fair as possible. Used the Stone & Hall trades as comparables.

Hall cost a first (18th OA) and conditional third, plus 3 players drafted in the first (30th OA), second and third rounds. Compher was a second rounder so take him as the conditional third pick as we already know his value. Beaucage is a third rounder, Kaut is a first rounder, The two firsts as they should theoretically be late ones cover the first round pick and the second round prospect. The Preds also aren't sending an extra player as the Devils did.

Stone cost Brannstrom, Lindberg & a second (First 15th OA [almost the same as Kaut in fact, 16th OA] & 2x seconds effectively) and the Sens also sent an extra player, so I'd say the offer easily beats this.

Admittedly it's a non-covid divisional rival so maybe the Preds look for more, and also admittedly Forsberg has one extra year on his contract.

Agreed, it would be a tough move to make. The other option would be to try Donskoi or, whilst I haven't done it here, at least wait until EJ is back. The other way to look at it is that all those D have to learn to kill penalties some time. No time like the present, and in fact with the injuries/covid issues we've had they already have been killing them!

How much did you look beyond this year because it looks like cap trouble for next year.
