Description
Trades are not final offers, just rough ideas of pieces that could be involved.

Exploring some ideas to get the Wild help at center but not break the bank.
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Domi, Max
Additional Details:
Saw this trade in another thread, https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2250547, and I think it could make a lot of sense. Domi's game is better suited for the wing, but he would immediately become the best player that has produced at center on our roster. If he only costs us Johansson and, say, a later pick, I think that's worth considering. Domi is playing on the 4th line so I can't imagine he'd cost too much.
2.
MIN
  1. Johansen, Ryan ($2,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Johansen has been a weird player ever since arriving in Nashville. At the time he was traded, everyone considered him to be a near lock to be a career top line center but he has been more of a 2C for the Preds. I wouldn't touch his full $8M AAV contract, but if the Preds retained 20-30%, he becomes a lot more palatable.
NSH
  1. Rask, Victor
  2. 2021 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Rask would almost have to go the other way to make the cap work. Rask has been playing very well this year but if I'm being honest I'm not expecting that to continue. This is assuming the pick is a late first.
3.
MIN
  1. Gustafsson, Erik
  2. Patrick, Nolan
  3. 2021 1st round pick (PHI)
Additional Details:
Patrick is probably worth more to the Flyers than he'd return in a trade at this point and I think the safe move is for them to just hang onto him and see what he becomes. That being said, the Flyers are in a position to contend for a cup and they may not want to wait for Patrick. The Wild are in a better position to be patient with the talented center.
PHI
  1. Dumba, Matt
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Dumba has been fantastic this year and losing him would really sting, but we have a ton of money tied up into our blue line, Addison looked very promising on the top pairing when he played, and while we will almost certainly protect 8 skaters in expansion to keep Dumba, it makes things a lot easier if we traded him and could go the 7-3-1 route. Philly needs help on the blue line and other fan bases have this perception that Dumba is horrendous defensively, but that has been far from the case this year. Dumba is having the best season in his own zone that I have seen and the scoring is starting to come again for him. Fletcher drafted Dumba 7th overall back in 2012 so there is probably some affinity there.

Not sure I’d give up a 1st to take on Johansen. Still think OTT or PHI is where Dumba lands.

At only $6M, I'd be fine paying that for a career 60 point center who has a 70 point season under their belt. It's still a big contract, though, and these aren't final offers.

I'm referring to your comments too, even if you add a later pick if doesn't get done. Domi has struggled but the big upside is there and MoJo is at best an injury prone middle 6er. Also domi has another year left
