Have Hyman and his agent taken a vow of poverty? Because if not... that deal ain't happening.

And if you're offering Simmonds DOUBLE what you're offering Spezza (who has done FAR MORE for the team)... make sure you sign Spezza first.

Hyman is worth more than that deal, yes.
But I've heard Hyman is already wealthy, and he's been very clear from the beginning of his career he only wants to play in Toronto. If anyone is taking a discount, it's Hyman (and Spezza by the way. He's done it the last 2 years and again is already wealthy). There are other factors to consider besides simply how good or important to the team a player is.
