Honestly, I would target VAN first pick instead. Take on contracts like Eriksson, Roussel and Holtby (so they can sign Petey) for their top 10 pick and draft one of Eklund or Guenther.

That doesn't get you Elias Pettersson slick, First off you can only offer him 7 years, Secondly he gets closer to Eichel money.

Well none of that will actually happen. Pettersson and Canucks have now begun negotiations and the GM has said he is not using prospects or high picks to move contracts

Yup Pettersson probably commands more then Eichel, So Suzuki+Romanov+Caufield is probably the starting point.
