Description
Goodrow and Coleman likely get more if there are enough suitors with cap space.

I wouldn't do this if I were Pittsburgh. They most likely wouldn't either.

Relax in advance Rielly lovers. He isn't worth much more than that as a player with one year left before UFA status. If it is a sign and trade or an extension is worked out in advance then maybe they could get more.

I have no use at all for either Mikheyev or Engvall. They are both overpaid 4th liners.

Seattle can have both Kerfoot and Dermott if they are willing to send back a 3rd. (Two decent pieces for them to get started with).

Unlikely Bernier would want to return to TO, so, pick your poison there. (1.5 to 2.0 million).

All in all, this team is much more balanced IMO.

There is no reason that they can't have highly skilled players in the top six and still fill out a competitive and balanced team if they are willing to get off of that "we are not trading a core player" crap.

Overvaluing your own is just as dangerous as moving off of one of them IMO.

Meh, whatever, let the complaining begin...

Why would teams give up assets for overpayed 4th liners in the flat cap era?

Some teams will place higher value on players who will help them get to the cap floor and still play a regular shift. That is a fact and those teams are out there, even in a flat cap era.

I would absolutely do that WPG trade. I love what Copp does but I honestly think they keep him Him, Lowry and Appleton is a nice line for them

Ya, the Pens probably wouldn’t do this.

Sid would be pissed if the traded Guentzel. So they probably won’t.

Pens organization says they are looking for size, defense and a backup vet goalie. Guentzel is better defensively and plays more physical than Marner. The organization would probably rather Guentzel. I know Sid would.

And the Pens like every competitive team right now are up against this flat cap. They are trying to shed salary, not take on. They are cash strapped and have RFAs to sign.I don’t think taking on Marner’s contract would be an option for them. Especially losing 2 top 6’s in the process too.

You are most likely correct. They could use a puck mover on the left side D though. Hence the suggestion. Lots to it. Extension would be critical.
