Byron is a cap dump and Kulak is a rental with zero value.

Kotkaniemi is a good start in a package for Bert but what are the other two guys doing there?

Yeah bert for KK is a great base I think a deal can be made there but maybe not that exact deal. Cant see Calgary eating that much cash for that package. Your giving up alot of young guys for guys who are ufas in a year or 2 though.

In the end it's all on what Yzerman thinks Kotkaniemis value is to the future of the team. Considering he has 30 mill in cap space, he might think taking on those 2 contracts of 1 yr Kulak and 2 yrs Byron, is worth it in order to have Kotkaniemi for the next 10 yrs

Been reading around that CGY is looking to trade Monahan and supposedly Treliving will get something similar to what NSH got for Arvidsson. If that's the case then Evans and a 1st in order to retain 50% for 2 yrs might be intriguing to him.

Bert for KK would probably get done. There may be some extra pieces added on each side but I think Detroit would bite at adding KK.
