looking at that Goligoski move,
You can almost bet a MIN PIT trade for defense is on it's way.
PIT has too many LD and needs to open cap space. MIN has a hole.
Could PIT 1st be headed back?

Guerin is going to have to make some trades. This roster is no better than last years.

No lol. Plenty of free agents to sign without having to give up assets. Pittsburgh doesn’t have any d men that require a 1st in return and Minnesota isn’t in any place to be giving up valuable picks considering the cap situation down the road, they will be banking on their 1st round picks hitting.

Yeah, that's my fear too. The trades will have to be cap neutral given the 8M increase in dead cap in year 2, which limits what we can do.

The FA market for defensemen is not that good.
Yeah you maybe able to rattle off a few names. But there are so many teams with a hole in defense. It's going to be over pay and hope you are lucky to get a guy.
Guerin's connections to PIT. The trades back and forth. I wouldn't be surprised at all.
You can say he's not worth a 1st, but you don't have anything to trade and defense is always at a premium in the NHL due to the lack of it.
