My guess 1st, Tuch and Norlinder would be a decent trade. I think some money would need to be retained on Burns though.

For Hertl alone, I would ask for something comparable to what Duchene got from CBJ a couple trade deadlines ago which was basically a 1st, a decent prospect and another conditional 1st if Duchene resigned. And then add some because you’d be getting Hertl for a full season. So a 1st + reasonably high end prospect would be the foundation.

Contrary to what people on here think, Burns doesn’t have negative value despite his age. But reasonably I’d only expect late 2nd or 3rd rounder back for him.

Hertl might bring back a 1st and a prospect in this market.
As for Burns, with no retention I'd say you are right in the 2nd to 3rd catagory.
If I'm SJS I'm not tripping over my own feet in shipping him out. Horrible move for MTL to want to bring him in.

Agreed. I really don’t think that’s an unfair ask for Hertl considering he is a 1C and considering what Philly and Chicago paid for Risto and Jones.

IMO it's fair. Would SJ prefer prospects instead of picks?
