Description
What I think the leafs should do at the TDL. Move out hunwick and polak for a draft pick, and even try to fleece a pick out of a desperate gm for laich, MM, or colin greening (very highly unlikely).

As for the trade with the ducks, I know a lot of people will not agree as the ducks are probably trying to move vatenen for a winger to save an expansion slot, but I am just thinking about the leafs end. The leafs are weak on defence and LW, esp if they trade JVR. This trade is assuming the ducks strike out on players like landy or duchene and get desperate for a scoring winger. JVR has tremendous value with a year and a half left on his contract, so the leafs ask for theodore and a LW prospect ritchie, along with taking stoner and thompson to relieve some salary cap crunch for the ducks and tempt them to include ritchie. The leafs add in a replacement lw in leivo and a young d in corrado to replace theodore, along with a draft pick. Corrado does not have much value so he is essentially a throw in here, and coulee be swapped with another prospect such as leipsec or even soshnikov.

This trade is not as likely as I would hope, but just having some fun with possibility, go leafs go!

Ducks also say no thanks. Theodore is about as close to untouchable as the Ducks have...they're not about to give up 2 controllable guys for a year of JVR. If the idea is that Perry/Getzlaf need someone to play with, they've got that in Rakell now.

So who is touchable from the Ducks' D? Every thread that has Lindholm in a trade people say he's untouchable. Same with Montour. Is it just Manson?

Why the Ducks say no: Basically two NHLer, Theodore and Ritchie for 1.5 years of JVR.
If the Ducks deal doesn't go through, the Leafs need all the Dmen with have to complete the reason. Hunwick and Polak gotta finish out the season despite being UFAs in the summer.

Ducks are likely to lose one of Vatanen, Fowler and Manson in the expansion draft. Gotta figure in June one of those gets traded. But likely not at TDL. Ducks need them for their Cup run.
