Description
I hate the fact the Sens are hunting for a centre and a winger. Melnyk should be ignored at all costs. If it's a long term option than someone in their mid 20's, over 29 and it better be 2 years max. Last year, Dorion wanted those vets to insulate and it turned out they were the worst players on the team. Let's be smart here, Sens time isn't now. Let the season play out. Sell if they're mediocre, but don't buy if they're hunting for a playoff spot. The 22 draft is full of great prospects particularly at centre. But I made a trade anyway!

This makes the most sens to me. The Coyotes are revamping their D and Brannstrom can battle for a top 6 spot and should get one. They can flip Tierney at the deadline for a 3rd and B prospect minimum.

Brannstrom isn’t someone I’d trade for Dvorak. I tend to agree. The most id offer for Dvorak is a B prospect and 2 2nds

Dvorak is the wrong target.

I have a completely different mindset fornthe Sens moving forward.

1. Yes, they need a 2C. However, this acquistion should be on shorter term deal, (2 years left MAX).

2. Why? I think it behoves the Sens to see of Stützle can play centre.

Acquiring a 2C with a short term allows the Sens to move in into the position slowly. If it doesn't work, you're insulated while you figure out a plan. (Think Nylander in Toronto - tried but clearly he was a winger)..... say like Formenton? Because he looks like he could be that guy.

Let's say Stützle looks like he can grow into the role, now you are seeking a 2nd line winger which is less again in asset loss, or, even a good UFA signing.

Dvorak is flat out the wrong target here.

A guy like a Kadri (doubt he moves now but....), or perhaps a Hertl (again lofty), would make more sense here. Even a short term gamble in the UFA market.
