Description
Sign Svech to a 3 year bridge deal mainly due to the cap freeze. He takes a lot of penalties which plays a factor as well. Cap space is there for a slight increase in pay,

Trade for Mangiapane to uprgrade the bottom six scoring. predicting calgary heading into a rebuild with this trade as they are getting a centre prospect and a few quality draft picks for a 3rd line winger. I feel as though Carolina can afford to give up these assets since their prospect pool is decent and they just had 13 picks in the 2021 entry draft... doing this would improve their team for the now and immediate few year potentially. I would resign Mangiapane after this deal is up, it makes sense and they will have the cap space

I want to buyout or trade Gardnier but having 2 years left on that deal makes it impossible to do either. The moves made, including not signing Hamilton, have been good. team defense has improved IMO, and they have buried gardnier as the #8 D, which is good because him being in the lineuop does not make this team better.

LOL, I agree. Bokk + Rees + 1st + one more prospect may get it done. My thought, though, is instead of trading for Bread Eater (that's literally his name in Italian bahahahaha), now's the time to go 8 years with Svech at whatever cost. Letting Hamilton get the mega-deal with New Jersey allows such an action to take place.

Svech will not sign a 3 year bridge deal, because the team won't offer one. It leaves Carolina re-signing Aho, Pesce, Teravainen and Svechnikov at the same time. That's how to destroy your core 101

Flames aren’t going into a rebuild - you can look at their coach, their moves this offseason and the quotes from their front office. We’d have to drastically overpay for Mang to get them to consider and would have to send a good roster player back which honestly doesn’t make sense for either team.

Svech will likely sign a 2 year bridge unless the team somehow convinces him to go 8 years, which is unlikely.

Gardiner isn’t that hard to trade if you attach assets with him. It’s clear after seeing other teams unload much worse contracts this offseason that it’s possible if needed. He is also a candidate for LTIR pending the back surgery decision between him and team / doctors.
