Not a fan of this trade. Lavoie and the second for Rakell with 50% retention is okay, but I think Jones is worth more than Kassian and the third. I'm not a Kassian fan, and Jones still has potential.

Rakell is a 9-goal rental, I'm not trading Lavoie + a 2nd for that kind of mediocrity. He'd be on the 3rd line in Edmonton (at best), so it's not like he's going to bring a lot of upside with him.

Well, it would be nice if at least one of your top 6 forwards could play a little defense, Rakell is better than either of the two guys you have at LW right now (I'm not including RNH), and playing with McDavid or Draisaitl, he'd score more than 18 goals. But I understand your reluctance to break up a team that went all the way to the first round last year.
