Buffalo fans will say the wrong pieces and I honestly agree. That ain’t it, especially with retention. Think if someone offered this for Fox. Would you even remotely entertain the offer cause I know I wouldn’t.

Reilly Smith puts little value into this trade...he goes UFA in a year...maybe if he were a C he'd have more value come TDL- but he's not...definitely not what they would be looking for as part of a package coming back...and doubt they even entertain any retainage- unless the Rangers have to part with a player they REALLY don't want to part with.

That vegas trade looks bad for the rangers, its like you are trying to move zibanejad for pieces to put towards acquiring eichel, but you took back peanuts.

Zibanejad is a ufa next year how much do you expect them to pay? Maybe flip Strome to vegas instead and leave carrier there. It would still give them better center depth and get them a bit under the cap.

Two HUGE differences. First, Fox is completely healthy and Jack ISNT. Second, Fox wants to play for the Rangers and Jack wants OUT OF BUFFALO in a bad way. It's called leverage and Buffalo's GM has none and everyone outside of this forum knows it. This is a flat out ridicules trade from a Rangers prospective. Way....Way...Way.....overpay.

Frankly. If Eichel were worth even 3/4 of this amount, he would already have been traded, but every GM in hockey, except Adams, knows the ask is way too high and he isn't going to get anywhere near it.
