Description
I like this roster man, if Tatar and Tarasenko work out the forward core could be one of the more dynamic and deep groups in the league.
On Defence obviously adding Dougie improves that unit, but Graves is also a solid and needed pickup for this group, he's a stout defensive defensemen who could pair great with Hamilton. I think its a solid unit, that gets helped out by two really good goaltenders. Blackwood and Bernier are on the best 1a/1b tandems in the league, if Bernier is anywhere near what he was last year and Blackwood continues to develop they could provide consistent stability.

Trades
NJD
  1. Tarasenko, Vladimir
  2. 2023 5th round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
If Tarasenko can be even 80% of what he was at his best, than the Devils will have a good (to even great) goal scorer to pair w Hughes.
If he wants out of St.Louis maybe going to an emerging team like New Jersey will help bring him to form.
STL
  1. Clarke, Graeme
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (NJD)
  3. 2022 4th round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
I think Clarke has really solid potential as a top 9 forward and the Blues get a 2nd to help them add other assets later.

Well they also have Holtz, Mercer, Foote and Stillman on the wings for the depth chart, plus I see Tarasenko as more of a stop gap, as he can fill a needed top 6 role now, and his deal expires in 2 years which is around when these prospects are projected to make that jump.

Just here to comment on one thing. That goalie tandem is not one of the best in the league.
Vasilevskiy-whoever (it happens to be elliott this year)
Varlamov-sorokin
Ullmark-swayman
Fleury-lankinen
Oettinger-bishop (bishops gonna be out this season and i wouldnt put them on here if it was khudobin or holtby)
Grubauer-driedger
These are the guys that you can make a case for both sides
Talbot-kahkonen
Hellebuyck-comrie
Lehner-brossoit
Demko-halak

And of course we have to mention
Hutton-korenar

I dunno how Army feels about Clarke. The Blues generally want wingers to be fast or have meat on the bone, and Clarke is neither. But that shot... like I said, Dunno. This may do it, or they may prefer someone like Boqvist.

Over long-term, Clarke is probably competing with Holtz for a roster spot as the others are projected in different types of roles.

Mercer is a two-way forward likely suited for 3C.
Foote is a big-body LW who will be a Power Play regular in front of net, but won't necessarily be a top-line winger.
Stillman will probably be more of bottom-six grinder.
Clarke is an offensive winger, and if all goes well, will compete with Sharangovich, Holtz, Bratt for RW role next to Hischier or Hughes (his minor teammate).
