All these teams say no, I'd argue Larkin alone is more valuable than Marner, that is peanuts for Manson, and BUF has plenty of tweener forwards they can play without giving up a draft pick.

Trade value aside, I just don't see why Larkin going to the Leafs makes sense. In this trade and another that I saw recently, Larkin is played on the wing. He hasn't been a winger since his rookie year, and that's inevitable when Zetterberg and Datsyuk take up those top 6 center spots. The Wings have no reason to get rid of their only true top 6 center that's also their young captain as well as Bertuzzi to get Marner. Marner is one of the best forwards in the league, I know, but Detroit would be shooting their future at the center position dead by trading Larkin for a return that doesn't include a quality young center or center prospect. And when Toronto gets Larkin, they do what? Play him on the wing!? If you're gonna take our best center, at least play him there! At least give us Nylander, so we have a top 6 forward who can play down the middle. Why are you trading for a center when you already have six of them?! I don't know why I'm so distressed about this.

Makes zero sense for Wings, as it leaves them with no true center.

I agree but some people don't understand that a player can be valuable even if they don't put up a lot of points.

Fair, Larkin's 200 foot game and leadership is really what makes him so valuable to Detroit. If Detroit trades for a star, it'd be for Eichel and it would be futures in return.
