Description
Not what I'd do but what I'm expecting to see if everyone's healthy based on early rumblings and previous deployment. Sandin being waiver-exempt likely to hurt him until they run into injuries. Campbell's net to lose at the start but will be surprised if they don't give Mrazek some runway to find his bearings and work into a ride the hot hand type scenario. Simmonds' two-year deal likely to deter anyone from a waiver claim, though we could see Spezza threaten retirement again to get them cap compliant. Kampf at 3C is concerning, hopefully Keefe has a different idea for that 3rd line... Willy to 3C? Bunting's got unsustainably incredible numbers in his brief NHL career thus far, his ability to provide with JT and on the PP will swing expectations this season by a lot. Wonder what kind of leash they'll give Semyonov as they've tended to let those overseas UFAs play their way out of a spot before sitting them. Don't have a read on the guy but wouldn't be surprised to see him get tested early in the season to see what they've got in him. Excited to see what Kase can do if he's healthy, seems like a smart player. Ritchie too, impressive numbers... Maybe Don Cherry was ri... nah. Looking forward to being wrong about all of this in a week.

Cause he was a 4th liner on a bad Blackhawks team. I've got the same concerns. The issue was no depth scoring so they sign a guy who scores less than who he replaced (Engvall).

Why is kampf 3c concerning?

Because he's never played a whole season and never cracked even 20 points.

Dont get me wrong hes a solid defensive center, but counting on him for 3rd line and PK might mean less offense from your 3rd line, then say Spezza or Brooks could offer. Kerfoot hasn;t really produced enough offense and Kase's best year was 38 pts in top 6 time, FOUR years ago.

Kampf is an offensive concern and probably better suited to say 11-12 minutes on 4th line and 3-5 mins on PK sounds much better

3rd & 4th lines on this team both play limited minutes; 3rd line with Kampf at centre is matchup (shutdown), 4th with Spezz or Brooks at centre more offensive. We’re relying on top 2 lines to score majority of goals.

What happens then like payoffs the top guys don;t produce? You need depth scoring and this lineup does not have it.
