Description
Everything about this year just screams “it has to happen this year.” The hawks might find themselves screwed if they don’t find trade partners for the overpaid vets and misfits they clearly don’t like (strome….). Cat and golden child might be prone to offer sheets if the hawks aren’t careful and honestly I’m just enjoying the chaos at this point. I’m still expecting little out of this team cuz the passion has been missing for five years, but hey, Bowman’s never going anywhere, so bask in the lunacy right!

I understand they're trying to see how Toews plays, hence holding onto Strome. But how many centers do they need as insurance? Dach, Strome, Johnson, Gaudette, Borgstrom, even Kurashev has experience at C. How much insurance is too much insurance at that point? The Connolly contract needs to be moved, I'd prefer a more mobile D man on the left side over De Haan, and yet they play the waiting game. Just too many tweeners on this team at all positions. Too many question marks going into a season is never ideal.

I agree completely with the question marks. I still say the biggest is Jeremy Colliton at this point but the D is still not good enough and fleury doesn’t perform miracles. Vegas has a good defense.

As for centers, Dach has no business at center with his faceoffs plus he really needs to be a winger. Stop forcing the center on the civ. Johnson is older but his experience and mobility still make a viable option. I like the fit between and Kane and cat, but if people thought strome with those was bad defensively, how’s this looking? Gaudette is a complete wash to me, don’t care about him and I’d rather see him gone honestly. Kurashev, at this point, has pretty clearly been trained as a winger by the team. As for borgstrom, I really can’t stand the long string of Blackhawks reclamation projects, which is what borgstrom is. I don’t care where they use him so long as he’s more useful than nylander.

I have no faith in what this team is doing and given the assault allegations really don’t wish them any success, but I hope for the sake of Chicago fans they wake up and just try.

Best part is hawks fans thinking Debrincat, Dach, Kubalik will all be affordable in the future. I’d rather have gone all in on the 2017 roster instead of ripping it apart. Tampa got surprised by CBJ and didn’t tear it all down. The accepted fault and came back. Panarin and Coach Q gone was it. Hawks had more runs in them years ago rather than a Hail Mary esque looking year with MAF and Jones now.

The hawks made their big mistake with that Seabrook contract. That was the end of it all, they also probably aren't in this situation if they extended Crawford for what he was asking (Which was $3.9 per for two years). Would've saved them money there. I'm not sure how they intend on being competitive while taking 2 cap dumps in Connolly and Johnson (And somehow not getting a 1st for either). Somehow, someway, Stan finds a way to have dead cap on almost every roster, instead of trading it away like he used to. Remember using Teravainen as a sweetener to trade the last year of Bickell's contract to CAR? Boy, this team could look so much different, it's insane how badly he's timed the moves he made.

How about that stellar Panarin for Saad for Zadorov? To me the biggest mistake was firing Q. Once Q got the axe I was blown away by Bowman and the stones he had to make Colliton (a kid with minimal chance of gaining the players respect and full effort to buy in) the new bench boss. Pretty much a complete slap in the face to the entire dynasty team after an amazing regular season and shocking playoff sweep.
