Minnesota has zero interest in Sean Monahan. Gm Guerin has no interest whatsoever!... it's been discussed before!..

So no , Monahan doesn't even have that much value currently, and Minnesota isn't going to help calgary get eichel with their 1st round pick

Doubt if Minni does that deal, even if they had the cap for it.
Buffalo should do that deal. Calgary without Monahan and Eichel are a lottery team.

I don’t think I’d be excited about this trade as a Sabres fan, but I do think they would probably take it. But since they are unloading $10 million in payroll and only picking up about $2.5 million in roster money, they either have to make another deal beforehand or after to add enough payroll to stay cap compliant.

One too many assets for a busted Eichel, I would remove Valimaki.
First round picks need protections based on Eichel's games played and production.

Something like:
Zary
Dube
2022 first (top 10 protected if eichel doesn't play this year)
2023 first(becomes a 2nd if Eichel plays less than 50 games next season)
