Hoffman and Edmondson do not qualify for LTIR, their injuries are not expected to last the minimum of 24 days or 10 games. Also LTIR still counts against the cap so the cap floor is met easily.

LTIR does not count against the cap. One of the main reasons it exists is for teams to get cap relief if a player is out for a while. I think you’re right about Hoffman and Edmunson though.

LTIR does not give cap relief it allows teams to exceed the cap ceiling to replace players up to but not over the injured players salary. However the injured players salary still counts towards the cap.
