I like the Vegas trade but does Vegas have the cap space?

not going to comment on trades specifically, just here to say I agree with comitting to a full reload. Really pissed me offer when we said we were rebuilding last time and then didn't atcually do it

I’ve heard caps fans be almost a dead split on Kane. Many don’t want him cuz they the path the caps are on with one eye on the future and one on the now. The other half really want to squeeze out the last of Ovi. I’m hoping on the latter. As for retention, that’s purely speaking to this theoretical plan. 4 should be enough, but with the full 50% retained, I think that squeezes an extra pick plus lapierre isn’t gonna come easy.

Vegas’ situation is essentially a swap where our toews’ retention mixed with smith’s contract keeps both teams’ caps exactly the same. Maybe an extra 500k for Vegas. Where Vegas stands in the off-season, however, I didn’t actually look that far into. I do know Roy, Kolesar, and Hague are out of contract but can be bridged affordably. The only “big” name expiring is mcnabb, and I’m not sure where his dollar amount lands. But, you and I both Vegas’ time is now, they gotta take every chance.

Yea, that was a tough look on the organization to essentially lie after a year. I think what’s even worse is that they’re now insulting everyone’s intelligence by saying, “we’re still following the process and focusing on growing our youth.” Really? That’s the plan this year?
