Seriously, you are probably the only one who thinks this is a fair trade. Well, maybe a couple of other Toronto fans.
A 23 year old AHL D + 23 y.o. 4th liner with middle 6 ceiling and a lousy pick for a 1C? How can you even attempt to justify this trade if you are the Avs GM?

Hi Joe Sakic. Is that you?

First of all, there's no AHL Defensman in this trade. Second of all, Duchene has 1 point in his last 13 games. Not a number 1 center.

Add the Leafs 1st and maybe it gets some on board, otherwise this is painfully undervaluing Duchene.

OK, so you only offer a 4th liner and pick for a great player, nice.
Matthews has 1 point in his last 8 games. The Pens will trade you Pouliot and a second round pick, thank you very much

First of all, 8 games is less than 13 games, and second of all, Matthews overall has had a better year. Third, Duchene in the last few years has really fallen off, and Matthews is still expected to play really well. Fourth, Matthews has been playing a great overall game, Duchene not as much. And fifth, My offer is probably better than Pouliot and a 2nd.
