Duchene trade that i would call realistic, and Joe Sakic wouldn't

Seriously, you are probably the only one who thinks this is a fair trade. Well, maybe a couple of other Toronto fans.
A 23 year old AHL D + 23 y.o. 4th liner with middle 6 ceiling and a lousy pick for a 1C? How can you even attempt to justify this trade if you are the Avs GM?

First of all, there's no AHL Defensman in this trade. Second of all, Duchene has 1 point in his last 13 games. Not a number 1 center.

Add the Leafs 1st and maybe it gets some on board, otherwise this is painfully undervaluing Duchene.

Matthews has 1 point in his last 8 games. The Pens will trade you Pouliot and a second round pick, thank you very much

Third, Duchene in the last few years has really fallen off, and Matthews is still expected to play really well. Fourth, Matthews has been playing a great overall game, Duchene not as much. And fifth, My offer is probably better than Pouliot and a 2nd.

Dude, (or Dudette), not sure why your trying to stir the pot here?

This is a borderline trolling post. Stop trying to defend it. Your only pissing people off and showing your lack of hockey knowledge in the process. Leivo and Soshnikov are decent players but no where near the value needed for an elite player like Duchene. Yeah, yeah, 1 pt in 13 games yet every team in the league would cream their pants to get him. Come on!

If points was the only factor in player value, Vrbata and Eaves would be top line players.

OK, I agree 8 games is not eonough, but why stop on 13? That's not enough too. Let's take last 5 years: Duchene has 264 point, Matthews only has 56; you are trying to rip Colorado off!
But I know a fair proposal for you: Matthews+Marner+Nylander have 162 points in the last 5 years combined, I'll give you Matt Cullen who has 158 in exchange. You'll have to through in a good pick though, because Matt is a proven leader.

Btw why even bother trading for Duchene, if you think he is completely useless?


I don't. i think he could do good with a new team.
