Description

I don't know who needs to hear this but I've saying this ever since they gave him a contract extension. Justin Holl is an elite third pair defenceman, nothing more, nothing less. The Leafs have been so adamant about this guy playing in the top 4 that they've passed on so many better options than him such as DeMelo, Larsson, Oleksiak, Weegar and Cernak when they were available. Now they are stuck with a guy who is a healthy scratch because he played too much over his head. For cap strapped teams like the Leafs, they need to address the 3C and 4D positions first.

Yeah, there's no way Poile could turn that deal down.

But the deals as a whole are all over the place in terms of value -- underpay to CHI, underpay to PHI, overpay to NSH.
