Sakic wants a D man in return for Duchene Eberle+2nd doesn't cut it and Ron Francis will want Leon Draisaitl for Faulk nothing less.

while i dont think the value is there in the Duchene trade, will have to be Nuge and caleb Jones + draft pick imo, the comment about Faulk is stupid at best. Francis can want Crosby for Faulk it doesn't matter because Faulk isn't worth a 70pt centre whos 22 years old. that trade was not only 100% fair, it was probably more in carolina's favour

i think the duchene trade needs to be Nuge instead of ebs and Ryan Murray is being dangerously overvalued, he's not very good. if it was Brossoit straight up i don't even think i would do it. i'd target another player who can actually play top 4 minutes well or at least better than Russell.

Khaira-Duchene-Kassian would make for a wicked third line. Also, I don't see the point in trading Puljujarvi before we know how his abilities translate to the NHL, I would trade RNH instead. The Colorado trade probably needs at least Jones added to make it work. So I would go:

Maroon-McDavid-Vrbata
Lucic-Draisaitl-Puljujarvi
Khaira-Duchene-Kassian
Slepyshev-Letestu-Pitlick

For the defense, I wouldn't bother bringing in Murray, as he's another LD and Edmonton has many. Pairings look like this:

Sekera-Faulk
Klefbom-Larsson
Nurse-Benning

Plenty of cheap UFA defensemen available for 7th man role. Who does Vegas select?

Even with the changes suggested above, I don't see how you'll be able to sign McDavid, Nurse and Benning next summer. Signing Vrbata for only 1 year will help.
