One of the only Leaf posts where they they have a 22 man roster and a bit of cap. Two reasonable trades. Good thoughts.

Sens decline,
Engvall doesn't replace what Paul brings to the team and Sens need right shot forwards, and a Second isn't enough to make up for that. Also only way Sens trade Paul is to somewhere he wants to go with a new contract that the Sens can't afford, which is not going to happen with the leafs any ways.

i just want to point out when toronto signed ritchie i said they would regret it, as a bruins fan i knew he was awful and is a drag to his linemates but when i said that on ACGM's maple leafs community ripped me a new one saying we didn't use him correctly, bruins waste good talent etc, etc. Just wanna say i told yall so as for the last 2 weeks every toronto ACGM has had them dumping ritchie for scraps, good thing kase has looked pretty good but you better hope he doesn't get his 6th concussion else you guys are out both your 3rd line wingers with no true replacements. ho-sang maybe but that guy has always teared up the AHL and then his game doesn't translate to the NHL. I wish you guys luck

i wasn't trying to be snarky i just wished maple leafs fan would have saw ritchie for what he was a 4th line hitter fringe 3rd liner. decent on PP2 because he was a good screener. His statistical numbers were just very inflated by krech's playmaking abilities and being able to set up any player like look what happens to a lot of players career once they were removed from krech's line
debrusk, ritchie, vatrano, donato, heinen, backes, reilly smith (quick note yes some of those players have now began to turn their careers around aka vatrano, smith) etc all those players looked like solidified 2nd liners on bruins but the moment they weren't with krech anymore they no longer produced, that's why krech was so undervalued he made players around him look way better then they actually were at that point and that's why i tried to make sure leafs fans wouldn't get their hopes up thinking he was a cheap bargain that would solidify there scoring depth. trust me as a bruins fan i know there is nothing worse then picking up a free agent with high hopes just for them to bust out
