feel like philly would want a first or a higher quality prospect for giroux, especially if they’re taking on monahan and retaining salary

Agreed on these points..... but I will add one other:

Does Giroux still play steady centre? Last time I checked he has moved primarily to LW, making this acquisition sort of questionable for me.....

he does both as needed. when they got hayes a few years ago he started playing more wing on couturier’s line but he’s played a good amount of center this season from my observation
