why would the islanders give you a second round pick and a good cheap defenseman for a more expensive one with more term that you don’t want?

I like the Oilers going after Fluery, but that is a lot of assets for a 38 year old rental.

Yes I get the QO & he asked for a trade so maybe the trade stock goes down yaddayadda....
However, 25Yr old DeBrusk has had more goals in one NHL season than KY has had in parts of 5-seasons combined (he is what he is folks...@ best a 10G/yr middling RW!!!)
Moreover, JD is Mr. Clutch in playoff goals (actually leads his entire 2015 draft class - incl some McJesus-dude).

It's a 1:1 deal at best.
Bruins (RW = Pasta, Smith and buckets of other guys to be 'RW' if needed)...

The NEED = A solid/even an elite LD is more desireable for Beantown.

I wondered why every trade favored the Oilers significantly til the Chi trade which is massive overpay.

Then i clicked on the profile.

Fave team: Oilers

2nd Fave: Black Hawks

Problem solved.

First 3 teams decline. Edmonton does not pay that for MAF. 🤷🏻‍♂️
