Description
A man can dream.

This gives 4 lines that can be ROLLED.

Foegdaddy can keep up with mcd as can our boy JP.

Benson plays a give and go style that could work well with drat. Hyman provides the same work that yamamoto does on that line but with more size and physicality.

Nuge will benefit from lesser competition and appleton and mcleod are both very defensive minded so provides a 3rd line that can be started in defensive situations.

The fourth line is my dream of josh archibald coming back to bang bodies and PK and skate miles. him and sceviour are just smart defensive players who dont give up a ton.

As far as the reasoning for the trades, seattle has a clear #1 goalie in grubauer, they have driedger for 3 yrs, they can unload his contract for koski at 1 yr who is a fine backup goalie altho overpaid, his sv% is better than driedger although he is older.

Driedger likely needs a fresh start and edmonton is a great landing spot for the manitoba boy. It seems like he was plan a untill grubauer was available and then the kraken org decided to hitch their cart to the grubi horse.

Yamamoto for appleton is a fair trade as far as both of them underperforming on similar expiring contracts.

Kassian and a 1st for soucy helps them trade from an organizational strength (left defense) for a physical player.

Not bad honestly. Not sure they take that exact deal, but I don't think they're hanging up the phone either.

I honestly don't hate this idea, but the changes I would have;
Archibald is not playing at all this year so his LTIR $1.5m in cap space helps..
Appleton is a better RHS version of Benson so maybe flip flop those two for line up purposes or just keep RNH on the 2nd line with Leon because they do play well together, it's just Yamamoto who hinders their offensive output... Or better yet, Leon/McDavid/Pupu on L1, Hyman, Nuge, Appleton L2, Foegele/McLeod/Benson L3, Shore/Ryan/Sceviour L4.. Ceci in the bottom pairing Barrie with Darnell(did so well together last season) Bouch with Keith... Only question I really have, where did Koekkoek go?? he'd be a solid 6/7th d man..

I actually don't hate that deal. Not crazy about Dreidger as he only has good numbers playing behind one of the top teams in the league. His cap hit isn't brutal, but combined with the term I'm not a fan. But Soucy and Appleton would be great additions.

I do think your lineup is way off though. Benson is not an NHL calibre player, let alone a top 6 spot with the 2nd best player on the planet. 0 pts in 15 games and really hasn't shown the slightest bit of offence. Thats offensive to Drai that you would put him on his wing. Nuge is a top 6 player who is a little snake bitten in the goal column, but I am pretty confident he'll pick it up again.
I wonder if come TDL, Holloway takes a spot, either top 6 with 97 or 3rd line with McLeod/Appleton in this scenario.
